The Empyre Boutique Hotel
The Empyre Boutique Hotel evokes grandeur and an understated elegance of a bygone era not seen in Castlemaine since the gold rush. Although built as the Albion hotel in 1860, its current transformation has produced a timeless and sophisticated hotel that is classic european inspiration. Furnished with stunning antique French and Asian pieces that adorn every level of the hotel, you will marvel at how they sit harmoniously side by side with modern amenities that we have come to expect today. Just six luxurious rooms all named after different aspects from the hotel’s past, create an intimate travel destination, where you may relax and unwind. Please note the Empyre cafe and restaurant has closed as of the 30th June 2012 and the hotel will continue to operate as an upmarket Bed and Breakfast venue as of the 1st July 2012. Relax, take time to unwind and enjoy the unspoilt beauty of Castlemaine and its surrounding villages. Or use the Hotel as a base to explore the many regional towns and their offerings that are with in 30 minutes of the Empyre.
Mr Beebe’s eating house and bar is all about sharing: with friends, family or even Mr Beebe. While our food is fresh, local Victorian, and organic. Our menu is designed to be flexible and we encourage you to eat as much or as little as you like while sharing the experience with the people you came with (or maybe just the stranger sitting next to you – as among other things the infamous Mr Beebe’s is known as an astute match maker). The food itself is created in a modern European style and we utilise only the very best local and organic produce… Mr Beebe’s wouldn’t have it any other way!
