ALL DAY DINING The Republic Bar & Café we have an extensive menu catering for all tastes and prices. There is also a specials board which is rotated regularly. Catering for large xgroups is one of our specialities with an upstairs function room and BBQ area out in the beer garden. You may choose to use one of our well trained chefs to cook a delicious dinner for you and your friends or alternatively you may decide to have a go yourself and hire on a cook yourself basis. We source the freshest ingredients to put on our menu, doing our best to track down the freshest fish and refusing to use frozen. Our squid and octopus is caught in Tasmanian waters and all other fish is either sourced locally when available or from interstate waters when necessary. We refuse to use fish caught outside of Australian waters. We use a small local Tasmanian butcher to buy in the best quality beef, lamb and pork in Australia. All our sauces are made from stocks that are made on the premises in a process that takes up to 10 hours. We do not use powdered mixes! The chicken dishes on the menu are made with chemical- and hormone-free chickens, and of course we only use free range eggs. All desserts are made fresh in our kitchen and not bought in. We also have a large range of red, white and sparkling wines and an extensive range of boutique Australian and imported beers from around the world, and of course all your other favourite beers to go with your meal, so you are bound to find something to match. FUNCTIONS At the Republic Bar & Cafe we cater to many different functions both large and small. We have several different areas to satisfy most tastes and styles. There is a large upstairs function room that may be hired for a private party. From a 21st birthday celebration, to a wedding, this room has seen it all. The Beer Garden out the back is very spacious and may be used for both large and small functions. Although this area isn’t as private as upstairs, it is perfect for a BBQ or drinks after work.
