The Windsor was built between 1895 and 1898 and remains one of the great surviving hotels in Australia. The Windsor is a fine example of the commercial architecture of prominent Perth architect JJ Talbot Hobbs. JJ also designed the Swan Brewery in Mount street, so he understood a bit about beer. The Windsor was built for George Strickland for the princely sum of four thousand and fifty pounds. Presently listed with the national trust and owned and cared for by the Ogden family, the Windsor has recently undergone a make-over which mixes its historic charm with contemporary chic. The former public bar has been transformed into the modern boutique Mends St Bar, the old restaurant is now a colourful café bar, the old Sluggers Bar is long gone, the area now a beautiful bar and garden. With well over 100 years of operation The Windsor has seen many generations come and go. The Windsor is more than a pub, more than a restaurant or venue for functions, more than just the bricks and mortar that comprise it. The Windsor is a way of life, built from the attitudes and interactions of the people who come here to drink. Its a reflection of you and your friends, so you’ll always feel at home at The Windsor.

Indiana Cottesloe Beach, Perth’s premier coastal venue, is located directly on Cottesloe Beach and offers uninterrupted views from every window, with all tables commanding views of the Indian Ocean and the magnificent sunsets beyond Rottnest Island. It served as a pit-stop for the playground that was Cottesloe Beach, Perth’s top spot for surf, sand and sun. “Cott Beach”, as it is affectionately known, is still the place to be. Indiana, serves coffee from 9am each day (Please note, the Restaurant is closed on Tuesday’s June/July & August) with breakfast on weekends from 8:00-11:00am. Opened in November 2001, this convivial vinous establishment has quickly become part of the fabric of Beaufort Street. Behind the elegant 1930's façade a long, polished she-oak bar greets you with an enticing & very personal selection of wines, spirits and beers. The wine list features over 500 references, strongly representing the wines of France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Argentina, USA, South Africa and beyond. A dozen whites and as many reds are poured by the glass – Riedel - as well as Sherries and digestives. A cocktail list includes the classics as well as some signature concoctions. The cuisine of Chef Russell Blaikie is seasonally based, contemporary with provincial French influences. The daily specials offer what produce is in its prime on any given day. Eat a few snacks at the bar or make a meal of it in the bistro, set over two levels with crisp white tablecloths and smart service to match. The mezzanine level can be converted into a private dining room for special events and if you really want something out of the ordinary, ask a waiter to take you upstairs to the Champagne Lounge.
