Almond Bar & Restaurant
Almond Bar is a restaurant that aims to serve authentic Middle Eastern mezza, delicious cocktails and wonderful wines in a very friendly and comfortable environment. It all started with a dream that owner Carol Salloum had of bringing her mother and sister's love of food and her love of people together. Carol and her sister Sharon grew up in a traditional Syrian culture where hospitality was your life. It started the moment an unexpected guest entered their home. No matter what the financial situation of their parents, they taught their children to be hospitable and always welcoming to those that came to your door. The Salloum household regularly had a container filled with mixed nuts for the visitors that would drop in for a coffee or drink. Each of the four siblings would secretly open the container and eat the almonds until there were none left. All seemed to get away with it since no one owned up.
