Thai Nesia Restaurant
Thai Nesia Restaurant has been opened since 1986. Located on Oxford Street close to the well known Taylor Square. On the ground floor, an antique chandelier and curtains from the Australian Hotel creates an exotic ambience. Whereas upstairs is also available for gatherings or functions in a modern environment. Carol and her sister Sharon grew up in a traditional Syrian culture where hospitality was your life. It started the moment an unexpected guest entered their home. No matter what the financial situation of their parents, they taught their children to be hospitable and always welcoming to those that came to your door. The Salloum household regularly had a container filled with mixed nuts for the visitors that would drop in for a coffee or drink. Each of the four siblings would secretly open the container and eat the almonds until there were none left. All seemed to get away with it since no one owned up.
