Nicks Wine Merchants
Nicks Wine Merchants is an independent family business, established in 1958. It began as 'Nicks Groceries' amongst the orchards and cows of East Doncaster, Victoria, in a 'shopping centre' with no made roads and only three other shops. The business remains family owned and run with one retail store in Melbourne, which is well worth a visit. It is no mere run-of-the-mill bottle shop, rather, as one journalist put it, "...Nicks Wine Merchants is a cornucopia of hard to find wines and spirits, more like an alcohol museum where you're allowed to taste and buy many of the exhibits".
This sophisticated venue, established in 1988 by Tony, Mary and Michael Mimmo, specialises in quality italian-inspired lunches and dinners. Casavini's fine dining and professional, friendly service has helped it establish a loyal clientele. Set in an intimate, florentine environment offering an ambience that is sleek, warm and inviting. Great for an intimate dinner for two or a special occasion with family and friends. There is an extensive choice of dishes from our a la carte menu Wednesday to Friday or our renowned Mediterranean smorgasbord including seafood every weekend with live entertainment. The Restaurant is fully licensed and has an extensive wine list sourced from Australian, New Zealand, French and Italian vineyards.
At the Tender Trap we create top quality, unpretentious, beautifully presented food with supreme attention to detail in an atmosphere of ambience and comfortable hospitality. Where else will you be able to enjoy immaculately fresh kingfish ceviche with spanish onion and lemon infused olive oil, or a perfect aged eye fillet served with truffle potato puree topped with port reduction? When the basic ingredients are this good the cooking doesn't need to be complicated.
