Two Buoys Tapas & Wine Bar
Welcome to Two Buoys! We are a multi award-winning tapas and wine bar that also serves the best breakfast and coffee on the Mornington Peninsula. Where possible, we source our foods and wine locally, taking advantage of our proximity to some of the best wineries and growers in Australia. Sit back and relax on our deck with stunning views over Port Phillip Bay and enjoy contemporary tapas and wines from all around the world. At Two Buoys we believe food isn’t just for eating, it’s for sharing. Whether it’s with family, friends or colleagues, food brings people together. That’s why our menu concept has been built upon the foundations of sharing – sharing food, wine and a good old fashioned conversation! Sharing also provides the ability to try lots of new and different things and explore how tastes, textures and flavours can become the perfect match of a particular wine or beer. A creamy Spanish prawn with chilli and garlic, paired with a glass of Tempranillo from Rioja, Spain for example, can bring an absolutely wonderful taste and such a flavoursome experience!
The Cheeky Squire
Some called him a rogue, some called him a convict, some even called him a legend, but what we do know is that James Squire was a very cheeky character indeed. The Cheeky Squire will honour his legacy by celebrating a love of quality craft beers matched with modern pub food, made with top local produce from the Mornington Peninsula.
The relaxed elegance of the Montalto Restaurant is set in a striking and harmonious landscape building featuring rammed earth walls, timber frames and rough-hewn floor boards to blur the edges of inside and out, bringing the beauty of the outside in. Floor to ceiling windows take advantage of the breathtaking rural outlook of vines, olive groves, sculpture leading down to picturesque lakes and wetlands, with pasture, and a hint of the ocean as the backdrop. The Montalto Restaurant is imbued with a provincial spirit, from a personal greeting at the front door to the food on the plate in front of you. Led by Head Chef Barry Davis, the kitchen serves food inspired by regional France, but anchored in the fresh seasonal produce of the estate and the Mornington Peninsula. This includes Montalto's own expansive, organic herb and vegetable garden, fruit & nut orchard and berry garden to which chefs make daily visits, harvesting the best of the garden for use in the restaurant. The kitchen works with owner Wendy Mitchell to determine what is planted each season, bringing the chefs into greater connection with the growing season. As part of the regional dining experience, the wine list offers selections from highly regarded Mornington Peninsula, Australian and international wineries, in addition to current and museum release estate wines.
